Looking for something to do Saturday? How about a fundraiser, a fashion show AND doing something good for your community?Rock Raizer is making it happen. Their mission is to open a youth community center with the purpose of giving under-privileged kids an opportunity to have music lessons. In other words they are all about freeing the mind of a child through music and supporting them with positive activities to engage in.
There will be kid entertainment and adult entertainment. From 1-6 pm, Kid bands will play and children are encouraged to attend. Check out this band, Cereal Killers on Good Day Tuesday. Cute, right? They go on at 4:15 pm.
The fashion show starts at 7 pm and features the designs of four hot local designers: Rachelle Britton, Amanda Fay, Ross Bennett and Megan Summerville and a few Elite Aveda design teams: Breeze salon, Avant salon and Dionysus from Houston.
Adult music begins at 9 pm and includes D.J. El John from Thievery Corp, Sun Salutations and Eleven Fingered Charlie.
DJ El John from Thievery, y'all! I'm excited.
The show is this Saturday, April 17th at Encore Club 611 club Red River, Downtown Austin. Tickets are $10 for kid bands only, $15 for all day and $50 for VIP. You can purchase them here.
Rock Raizer is accepting instrument donations as well as your contribution through the price of your ticket. So if you still have that old trumpet from junior high or guitar from college lying around feel free to bring it with you.
See you Saturday.
